Sitting Exams

Sitting the exams was a challenge for me because it was hard sitting in a quiet room for 4 hours a day for 3 days. I think i prepared well for all my exams except social studies, i didn’t have a lot of time to get to studying for the social studies exam. I wasn’t quite ready for my social study exam but i was ready for the other 4. I think i did well in my Maths and Science exams more than the rest. What i could have done better was use some of the time i had in class to study more for all 5 exams. Next time i think i’ll change the amount of time i have to study, to make space for all of my subjects to be studied on equally.

Digital Footprint

A digital footprint is something that shows everything we've been on or searched online. We are learning about digital footprints so that we can understand whats so important about what we are leaving behind in our history.

Hāuora-Four Dimensions

  1. Physical - Playing netball affect my physical dimension as i am moving around a lot.
  2. Social - Spending time with friends & family affects my social dimension because I am building relationships and communicating with others.
  3. Mental/Emotional - Decision making can affect my mental/emotional dimension as it will make me feel how ever i feel about the decision i have made.
  4. Spiritual - My Family is the most important thing in my life which affects my spiritual dimension because it's things that are important to me.

Recently in 9RMz's health class we have learnt about our 4 dimensions. Physical, Social, Mental & Emotional, And Spiritual are the dimensions we had been learning about. Miss Dougherty (Our health teacher) told us what could affect all 4 of them and why. These are my four things that affect each dimension.

He Korowai Hapori - Ruapotaka Marae

This morning's double period of ICT/Digitech, 9RMz went to Ruapotaka Marae in Glen Innes to learn more about sustainability in the Tamaki Community. As we were settled in our seats, Whaea Noelene introduced herself and what they had been working on. He Korowai Hapori was the name of their work. They had made this Korowai to represent the past, present and future of the housing development in the Tamaki Community. The Korowai that they had presented to us was made of wire and little plastic houses that were threaded onto the Korowai. Whaea Noelene talked about how the present helps our future, so we need to work hard in school and everything we do, so that our future will be better.

DigiTech - Brief Development

In DigiTech, we have been working on Brief Development in class.
I have learnt how to do many things based around making website's, like adding google drawing and documents to our websites. In DigiTech we have been using brainstorms to explain problems in the Tamaki Community/environment, and ideas about how we could somehow solve the problems. We also used different website's we discovered on the internet to help our community find idea's, information and photo's of the problems and solutions if there is a solution.

Sustainability Day

Review our sustainability day!  Give lots of examples!

What did you do?
We walked around, planted our seeds, sketched front (outside) of the marae (Manawa tau), We learnt the sasa taught to us by Mr Stevenson, and we listened to stories told to us inside Manawa tau, And lastly we wrote in our booklets as we went along with the day.
What did you learn?
We learnt the meanings of the carvings on the wall inside manawa tau, we learnt about the person who designed the carving. What we also learnt were some stories that Matua Wally. Matua Wally told us about the designs on the outside of manawa tau.
How did you feel?
I felt normal because some of the things we did/learnt were kind of similar to the things we do and learn in class.
What do you want to learn more about?
I would like to learn more about everything that we learnt about on our sustainability day.
